Background of Artemis

Artemis has a role in T and B lymphocyte immunodeficiency and in predisposition to lymphoma through the NHEJ pathway of DNA repair. DNA-PKcs regulates Artemis by both phosphorylation and complex formation to permit enzymatic activities that are critical for the hairpin-opening step of V(D)J recombination and for the 5' and 3' overhang processing in non-homologous DNA end joining.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Question

Will A02405 anti-Artemis antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

Z. Roberts

Verified customer

Asked: 2018-06-15

Answer

You can see on the product datasheet, A02405 anti-Artemis antibody as been validated on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

Question

Does anti-Artemis antibody A02405 work on bovine WB with embryo?

L. Bhatt

Verified customer

Asked: 2013-12-09

Answer

Our lab technicians have not tested anti-Artemis antibody A02405 on bovine. You can run a BLAST between bovine and the immunogen sequence of anti-Artemis antibody A02405 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated bovine samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in bovine embryo in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.

Question

We are currently using anti-Artemis antibody A02405 for human tissue, and we are happy with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human. Is it likely that the antibody can work on feline tissues as well?

A. Brown

Verified customer

Asked: 2013-02-22

Answer

The anti-Artemis antibody (A02405) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with feline tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in feline you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
