|Protein Name||Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator|
|Molecular Weight||168142 MW|
|Protein Function||Involved in the transport of chloride ions. May regulate bicarbonate secretion and salvage in epithelial cells by regulating the SLC4A7 transporter. Can inhibit the chloride channel activity of ANO1. Plays a role in the chloride and bicarbonate homeostasis during sperm epididymal maturation and capacitation. .|
|Tissue Specificity||Expressed in the respiratory airway, including bronchial epithelium, and in the female reproductive tract, including oviduct (at protein level). .|
|Sequence Similarities||Belongs to the ABC transporter superfamily. ABCC family. CFTR transporter (TC 3.A.1.202) subfamily.|
|Subcellular Localization||Early endosome membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cell membrane. In the oviduct and bronchus, detected on the apical side of epithelial cells, but not associated with cilia. .|
|Alternative Names||Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator;CFTR;ATP-binding cassette sub-family C member 7;Channel conductance-controlling ATPase;18.104.22.168;cAMP-dependent chloride channel;CFTR;ABCC7;|

Dilution Ratios/Recommended Concentrations
At Boster we strive to provide the best Anti-CFTR Antibody by testing all applications on non-spiked tissues and cell lines to ensure that the affinity of the antibody is enough to react to the endogenouse level of the target protein. Read more about our QC panel here.
|Recommended dilution ratios are listed below:|
Immunohistochemistry(Paraffin-embedded Section), 0.5-1μg/ml, Human, Rat, Mouse, By Heat|
Western blot, 0.1-0.5μg/ml, Rat, Human, Mouse
**Boster provides high sensitivity secondary antibody kits for Western blotting and IHC. For more info see Related Products below.

1. Post-translational modification:phosphorylation, methylation, glycosylation etc. These modifications prevent SDS molecules from binding to the target protein and thus make the band size appear larger than expected
2. Post-translational cleavage: this can cause smaller bands and or multiple bands
3. Alternative splicing: the same gene can have alternative splicing patterns generating different size proteins, all with reactivities to the antibody.
4. Amino Acid R chain charge: SDS binds to positive charges. The different size and charge of the Amino Acid side chains can affect the amount of SDS binding and thus affect the observed band size.
5. Multimers: Multimers are usually broken up in reducing conditions. However if the interactions between the multimers are strong, the band may appear higher.,
