Immunogen

A synthesized peptide derived from human Epac1 The activation of RaP1 by cAMP is independent of PKA and is mediated by recently discovered family of guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) called cAMP-GEFs or Epacs. The Epac signaling therefore represents a novel mechanism for cAMP signaling with in the cAMP cascade.

Background of RAPGEF3

F-actin cross-linking protein which is thought to anchor actin to a variety of intracellular structures. This is a bundling protein. Probably involved in vesicular trafficking via its association with the CART complex. The CART complex is necessary for efficient transferrin receptor recycling but not for EGFR degradation.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Question

Will M02483 anti-Epac1 Monoclonal antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2017-08-31

Answer

It shows on the product datasheet, M02483 anti-Epac1 Monoclonal antibody as been tested on IP. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

Question

We are currently using anti-Epac1 Monoclonal antibody M02483 for rat tissue, and we are content with the IP results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it likely that the antibody can work on pig tissues as well?

J. Yang

Verified customer

Asked: 2015-11-12

Answer

The anti-Epac1 Monoclonal antibody (M02483) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with pig tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in pig you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
