|Protein Name||Matrix metalloproteinase-14|
|Molecular Weight||65894 MW|
|Protein Function||Seems to specifically activate progelatinase A. May thus trigger invasion by tumor cells by activating progelatinase A on the tumor cell surface. May be involved in actin cytoskeleton reorganization by cleaving PTK7. Acts as a positive regulator of cell growth and migration via activation of MMP15. Involved in the formation of the fibrovascular tissues in association with pro- MMP2. .|
|Tissue Specificity||Expressed in stromal cells of colon, breast, and head and neck. Expressed in lung tumors. .|
|Sequence Similarities||Belongs to the peptidase M10A family.|
|Subcellular Localization||Membrane ; Single-pass type I membrane protein . Melanosome. Cytoplasm. Identified by mass spectrometry in melanosome fractions from stage I to stage IV. Forms a complex with BST2 and localizes to the cytoplasm.|
|Alternative Names||Matrix metalloproteinase-14;MMP-14;22.214.171.124;MMP-X1;Membrane-type matrix metalloproteinase 1;MT-MMP 1;MTMMP1;Membrane-type-1 matrix metalloproteinase;MT1-MMP;MT1MMP;MMP14;|

Dilution Ratios/Recommended Concentrations
At Boster we strive to provide the best Anti-MMP-14 Antibody by testing all applications on non-spiked tissues and cell lines to ensure that the affinity of the antibody is enough to react to the endogenouse level of the target protein. Read more about our QC panel here.
|Recommended dilution ratios are listed below:|
Immunohistochemistry(Paraffin-embedded Section), 0.5-1μg/ml, Human, Rat, Mouse, By Heat|
Western blot, 0.1-0.5μg/ml, Human, Rat, Mouse

Predicted bind size: 66KD
Observed bind size: 150KD
1. Post-translational modification:phosphorylation, methylation, glycosylation etc. These modifications prevent SDS molecules from binding to the target protein and thus make the band size appear larger than expected
2. Post-translational cleavage: this can cause smaller bands and or multiple bands
3. Alternative splicing: the same gene can have alternative splicing patterns generating different size proteins, all with reactivities to the antibody.
4. Amino Acid R chain charge: SDS binds to positive charges. The different size and charge of the Amino Acid side chains can affect the amount of SDS binding and thus affect the observed band size.
5. Multimers: Multimers are usually broken up in reducing conditions. However if the interactions between the multimers are strong, the band may appear higher.,
