Background of p23/PTGES3

Prostaglandin E synthase 3 (cytosolic) is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PTGES3 gene. It is mapped to 12q13.3; 12. This gene encodes an enzyme that converts prostaglandin endoperoxide H2 (PGH2) to prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). This protein functions as a co-chaperone with heat shock protein 90 (HSP90), localizing to response elements in DNA and disrupting transcriptional activation complexes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. There are multiple pseudogenes of this gene on several different chromosomes.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

1 Customer Q&As for Anti-p23/PTGES3 Antibody Picoband™

Question

We are currently using anti-p23/PTGES3 antibody A04136-1 for human tissue, and we are satisfied with the ELISA results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it true that the antibody can work on feline tissues as well?

Answer

The anti-p23/PTGES3 antibody (A04136-1) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with feline tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in feline you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
