|Mouse Bone Decalcification||Decalcification of mouse specific bone tissue. Removal of calcium ions from the bone through histological process, thereby making the bone flexible and easy for pathological investigation. FFPE (formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded) Services
Paraffin-embedding and sectioning are the most widely used methods in morphological research. The usual fixative for paraffin embedded tissues is neutral buffered formalin (NBF). These methods are used to observe the morphological structure and pathological changes of tissues and cells. We provide a full range of services including: paraffin embedding, sectioning and staining, sampling, fixation, dehydration, xylene transparent, paraffin wire, and specialized slicing.
|Tissue processing and Paraffin embedding||Tissue is dehydrated through a series of graded ethanol baths, and then infiltrated with paraffin wax. The infiltrated tissues are then embedded into wax blocks. Suitable for all soft tissues and for decalcified bone samples.||$11.50|
|Paraffin Sectioning||Sectioning for specimens in paraffin block. 4 μm sections are cut using microtome and prepared on histological slides.||$4.60|
Cryo (OCT) Services
Cryosectioning is a technique which involves slicing after tissue samples have quickly frozen to a certain hardness. We have adopted the method of cryogenic freezing section to provide frozen sectioning and embedding services. The cryosections are embedded in Optimal Cutting Temperature (OCT) compound, and are preferred over paraffin by some scientists as it preserves the tissue as close as possible to its natural state.
|Cryo embedding (OCT)||Embed a fresh or frozen sample into frozen OCT block (optimal cutting temperature compound).||$9.20|
|Cryo sectioning||Fixed or fresh tissue samples are cut in 8-10 μm sections in cryostat and mounted on histological slides.||$9.20|
Based on the goal of an experiment, different staining methods are used to dye the sections, so that various tissue components are stained different colors with dyes via chemical combination or physical adsorption. With our staining services, we provide more than forty staining methods that will suit a wide variety of experiments. Contact us at [email protected] if you need help with choosing the appropriate staining method!

Electron Microscopy and TEM Services
The electron microscope is a type of microscope that uses a beam of electrons to create an image of the specimen. It is capable of much higher magnifications and has a greater resolving power than a light microscope, allowing it to see much smaller objects in finer detail. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is a microscopy technique in which a beam of electrons is transmitted through a specimen to form an image. The specimen is most often an ultrathin section less than 100 nm thick or a suspension on a grid. An image is formed from the interaction of the electrons with the sample as the beam is transmitted through the specimen. Boster provides specialized services for your electron microscopy needs including sample preparation, embedding, sectioning, imaging and analysis.
|Gelatin Embedding||Embedding tissues in gelatin makes it possible to cut thin sections for electron microscopy. This method allows us to embed the tissue without passing it through organic solvents extracting the lipid soluble components. Observations made on muscle tissue embedded with this technique have revealed structural components which do not appear after embedding in methacrylate.||$23|
|Resin Embedding||For TEM assay of tissue and cell specimens. Resin-infiltration is typically used for transmission electron microscopy. Resin-infiltrated biological samples result in a solid block of resin, which can be further processed by mechanical sectioning, however that does not allow a top view examination of small cell–cell and cell–surface contacts.||$230|
Boster provides all the supplies and research reagents you need to perform histology and IHC. Save up to 99% compared to Thermo and Sigma, all products are backed by the Boster Guarantee. Free shipping for qualified products (see *) for orders over $100!
