Tris-Glycine SDS Buffer contains the denaturing agent sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS). Protein electrophoresis under denaturing conditions (SDS-PAGE) involves separating proteins based on their size. By treating the sample under denaturing and reducing conditions with SDS, proteins unfold and become coated with SDS detergent molecules.
1. Empty contents of one foil envelope pack into a beaker.
2. Add 800mL of distilled water and stir to dissolve.
3. Add 200mL dried methyl alcohol, mix thoroughly.
