Background of BAP1
BAP1, also known as BRCA1-associated protein-1, contains an acidic region, a highly charged C-terminal region, and 2 putative nuclear localization signals. BAP1 is a novel ubiquitin hydrolase which binds to the BRCA1 RING finger and enhances BRCA1-mediated cell growth suppression. BAP1 is expressed as a 4-kb mRNA in all human tissues, and mapped to 3p21.3.

IHC analysis of BAP1 using anti-BAP1 antibody (AZA1L2G3).
BAP1 was detected in a paraffin-embedded section of zebrafish brain tissue. Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0, epitope retrieval solution). The tissue section was blocked with 10% goat serum. The tissue section was then incubated with 2 μg/ml rabbit anti-BAP1 Antibody (AZA1L2G3) overnight at 4°C. Peroxidase Conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG was used as secondary antibody and incubated for 30 minutes at 37°C. The tissue section was developed using HRP Conjugated Rabbit IgG Super Vision Assay Kit (Catalog # SV0002) with DAB as the chromogen.
