The Zebrafish proteome is rich. Over 30,000 proteins. But are antibodies available for even a fraction of those? Are they even validated in zebrafish? Not so much. And that's just bad for science. So Boster's been working hard to fix that.
In 2018, we took our first steps to support zebrafish researchers with our custom build program, still only $600. And you responded—with such enthusiasm and gratitude—that it quickly became clear there’s power in collaboration.
With that in mind, in 2024, we went all-in on the zebrafish community. We pledged $200,000 annually to develop up to 500 new zebrafish antibodies each year.
And now in 2025, we’re moving to empower the research community by announcing an innovative program to reshape the way zebrafish antibodies are made. We're calling it the Zebrafish Antibody Collective.

The Preferred Peer Validation Program. Simple. Transparent.
What is the Preferred Peer Validator Program? It sounds like marketing nonsense.
It's anything but. We conceived it as a back-to-basics paradigm that combines old-school science—wherein members support each other by coming together to lift up the whole zebrafish community. Investigators working together are faster and more efficient than isolated researchers doing it all themselves. The Preferred Peer Validator Program connects researchers who need an antibody validated to carefully-selected labs who run critical tests under real experimental conditions. Preferred Peer Validators are selected carefully based on expertise, assay capacity, and zebrafish community needs, making the role both impactful and prestigious.
Step 01. Request or Apply to be a Preferred Validator—You drive the Science.
Whether you need a novel zebrafish antibody or want to validate, the process starts with you. Requesters: Tell us your target, application, and timing. Validators: Apply to join our preferred partner pool and be among the first to test new antibodies. (Spots are limited to maintain quality and fairness.)
Step 02. Align on Protocols, tissues—Shared goals, clear expectations
We work together—hand in lab glove—to confirm sample types, controls, expected outcomes, and success criteria. You’ll receive any relevant internal data and suggested SOPs so you can test under your own conditions while we stay aligned and on track. Working with you in this way also allows Boster scientists to understand your specific needs, capabilities and research better as we develop products that will serve you better.
Step 03. Ship, Test, Repeat—Seamless logistics, zero cost to you, the validator.
If accepted as a validator, you’ll receive antibody kits, cold-chain shipped, datasheets included, positive controls where applicable. You run the experiments your way, and we stay on call for troubleshooting or support if needed. If this seems one-sided, it isn't; our preferred validators are chosen from only the best labs and brightest investigators. Your expertise brings tremendous value to the partnership for us.
