Background of KIR5.1
Anti-CAND2 antibody is ideal for western blotting, ELISA and IHC. CAND2 is also known as TIP120B, and TATA-binding protein-interacting protein 120B. While both CAND1 (TIP120A) and CAND2 (TIP120B) are TATA-binding proteins and form complexes with various nuclear proteins involved in the control of eukaryotic gene transcription, CAND2 (TIP120B) is expressed specifically in muscle and heart tissue. This is contrary to the ubiquitous expression of CAND1 (TIP120A). TIP120 homologs exist in various higher eukaryotes including D. melanogaster, C. elegans, and A. thaliana. TIP120B is 60% identical in amino acid sequence to TIP120A.
Antibody Validation
Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Question
We are currently using anti-KIR5.1 antibody A10858-1 for rat tissue, and we are satisfied with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it possible that the antibody can work on pig tissues as well?
Verified Customer
Verified customer
Asked: 2019-11-29
Answer
The anti-KIR5.1 antibody (A10858-1) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with pig tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in pig you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Question
Would anti-KIR5.1 antibody A10858-1 work on pig WB with kidney parathyroid?
B. Moore
Verified customer
Asked: 2019-11-01
Answer
Our lab technicians have not tested anti-KIR5.1 antibody A10858-1 on pig. You can run a BLAST between pig and the immunogen sequence of anti-KIR5.1 antibody A10858-1 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated pig samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in pig kidney parathyroid in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.

Question
Does A10858-1 anti-KIR5.1 antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?
A. Wu
Verified customer
Asked: 2015-04-08
Answer
It shows on the product datasheet, A10858-1 anti-KIR5.1 antibody as been validated on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
