Background of ARMCX2

This gene encodes a protein containing a potential N-terminal transmembrane domain and multiple armadillo (arm) repeats. Proteins containing arm repeats are involved in development, maintenance of tissue integrity, and tumorigenesis. This gene is located in a cluster of related genes on chromosome X. There is a pseudogene for this gene on chromosome 7. Alternative splicing in the 5' UTR results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.

Question

Will A16296 anti-ARMX2 antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

E. Taylor

Verified customer

Asked: 2016-11-30

Answer

You can see on the product datasheet, A16296 anti-ARMX2 antibody as been tested on IF. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
