Description

ACSL5 (long-chain-fatty-acid–CoA ligase 5) activates long-chain fatty acids to acyl-CoAs, feeding both lipid biosynthesis and mitochondrial beta-oxidation; this is represented within curated fatty acyl-CoA biosynthesis frameworks. Assay context: Human/Mouse-reactive monoclonal antibody tested in WB for protein detection; frequently contextualized with secreted lipid-regulatory factors such as ANGPTL3 when connecting circulating lipid cues to intracellular fatty-acid utilization programs (putative co-panel).
