Immunohistochemistry of goat anti-Apolipoprotein C-II antibody. Tissue: human kidney. Fixation: formalin fixed paraffin embedded. Antigen retrieval: not required. Primary antibody: Apolipoprotein C-II at 5 µg/mL for 1 h at RT. Secondary antibody: Peroxidase goat secondary antibody at 1:10,000 for 45 min at RT. Staining: Apolipoprotein C-II as precipitated red signal with hematoxylin purple nuclear counterstain.

Would A01497 anti-Apolipoprotein C-II antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

As indicated on the product datasheet, A01497 anti-Apolipoprotein C-II antibody as been validated on IHC. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

We are currently using anti-Apolipoprotein C-II antibody A01497 for human tissue, and we are happy with the IHC results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human. Is it possible that the antibody can work on bovine tissues as well?

The anti-Apolipoprotein C-II antibody (A01497) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with bovine tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity.
