Platelet-activating factor receptor (PTAFR)

Receptor for platelet activating factor, a chemotactic phospholipid mediator that possesses potent inflammatory, smooth- muscle contractile and hypotensive activity. Appears to mediate its action by means of a G protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol- calcium second messenger system.
