Renin-2 (Ren2)

Renin is a highly specific endopeptidase, associated with pepsin, whose only known function is to generate angiotensin I from angiotensinogen in the plasma, sparking a cascade of reactions which produce an elevation of blood pressure and increased sodium retention by the kidney. Its role in the salivary gland isn't understood.
