13 Customer Q&As for Human Laminin ELISA Kit PicoKine™

Question

Would EK0434 work for the quantification of laminin 332 (or laminin-5) in the cell supernatant?

Verified customer

Asked: 2021-02-01

Answer

The Human Laminin ELISA Kit PicoKine™ (EK0434) detects total laminin and it is not specific to any isoform like laminin 332 or laminin-5.

Question

Q: Are Boster Bio recombinant proteins and antibodies sterile?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2020-05-09

Answer

A: although the vials are bottled using aseptic techniques, heat-treated vials, and sterile stock solutions, they are not considered or guaranteed to be sterile. If sterile material is required for an experiment, the material can be filtered through a 0.2 micron filter designed for use with biological fluids.

Question

Q: which procedure should I follow in order to thaw whole blood sample for LAMA1; LAMB1; LAMC1 ELISA after freezing?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2020-05-09

Answer

A: do not freeze and thaw whole blood. erythrocytes are fragile and, if frozen and thawed, will undergo hemolysis rendering the samples useless. To keep your blood samples to test LAMA1; LAMB1; LAMC1 for a later time, you should let the blood clot in glass tubes and separate the serum to freeze for later analysis.

Question

Q: can you recommend the dilution ratio of serum samples for detection of LAMA1; LAMB1; LAMC1 in Human serum? I am trying to measure a multiple analytes and it requires 100ul of diluted samples for each well. We have low serum quantitys so we like to dilute as much as possible.

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2020-01-31

Answer

A: unable to know the physiological or pathological context of your samples we cannot recommend a dilution ratio without performing a pilot test with your samples. Here is how you can perform a pilot study on your own: perform a serial dilution of your samples on the LAMA1; LAMB1; LAMC1 ELISA kit to make sure you have a linear ascending curve followed by a plateau, which signifies the samples saturating the detection limit of the kit. Then you can pick the dilution ratios from samples in the linear part of the curve as your experimental dilution ratio.
If you are interested in using our ELISA service, you can also send us your sample and we will take care of everything for you. You can check our service details here: bosterbio.com/services/assay-services/ELISA-testing-service
Since you mentioned you have limited samples, our cost effective multiplex ELISA service would fit perfectly for your needs, where we can generate dozens of data points using as little as 25ul sample volume. Information on this service is also in the above link.

Question

Which subunits of laminin does this kit recognize? Keywords: chain, isoform, subunits

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-11-25

Answer

Our Human Laminin PicoKine™ ELISA Kit EK0434 is the Laminin pan specific to all Laminin subunits. The kit can recognize alpha, beta, and gamma subunits of laminin.

Boster Scientific Support

Answered: 2019-11-25

Question

Has EK0434 been tested for condition media in samples?

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-08-19

Answer

Unfortunately, we have not tested the Human Laminin ELISA Kit PicoKine™ (EK0434) for condition media, so we cannot guarantee that would work. In theory the ELISA kit will work for all sample types if the target protein is present at a level that falls within the linear range of the ELISA kit detection range. For sample types that we have not tested for, we suggest you run pilot experiments to decide the optimal sample dilution.

Question

Would EK0434 kit be suitable for detection of laminin 1, 2 and 8 (Either beta-1 or gamma-1) and which chain or isomer is this kit specific for?

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-08-16

Answer

The Human Laminin ELISA Kit PicoKine EK0434 is able to detect all forms of Laminin. It is not isoform specific.

Question

Are the capture and detection antibodies for EK0434 rabbit polyclonals? Do they have the same immunogen and are they both towards the native human protein?

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-05-03

Answer

Both capture and detection antibodies of the Human Laminin ELISA Kit PicoKine™ (EK0434) have the same immunogen. They are both towards the native human protein.

Question

Q: for how much duration can samples (cell cultures, serum, and plasma) be stored and still be stable for measuring LAMA1; LAMB1; LAMC1 using the EK0434 Human LAMA1; LAMB1; LAMC1 Picokine® ELISA Kit?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-01-20

Answer

A: Boster Bio does not evaluate sample stability. Variations in sample collection, processing, and storage may change the stabilityof samples. It is recommend to assay sample immediately after collection when possible, or aliquot into single use volumes and store samples frozen. avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles with the stored samples to limit protein degradation.

Question

Q: what is the protocol regarding preparation of cell lysates prepared for use in Picokine® ELISA kits?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2018-02-06

Answer

A: for those Picokine® ELISAs where cell or tissue lysate is a validated sample type, sample preparation instructions for lysate can be found in the product insert. Components in lysate and lysis buffer can change immunoreactivity, so if lysate is not a validated sample type, care must be taken in sample preparation and validation.

Question

Q: how many samples can be assayed in a Picokine® ELISA Kit?

L. Gandhi

Verified customer

Asked: 2016-08-04

Answer

A: The Picokine® ELISA Kits will generally run a 7-point standard curve, non-specific binding wells, and 39 samples in duplicate. this may might differ by kit so please refer to each datasheet for details.
