Product Name
Anti-ABCG4 Antibody Picoband®
SKU/Catalog Number
PA2067
BA3038 is an alternative SKU for this antibody, used in previous lots.
Size
100 μg/vial
Form
Lyophilized
Description
ABCG4 is an ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter (White subfamily) with expression and regulation consistent with macrophage cholesterol handling; Boster datasheet notes induction with LXR/RXR agonists and decreased expression after cholesterol removal, aligning with a role in lipid/cholesterol homeostasis (putative disease relevance in atherosclerosis/neuroinflammation). Assay context: rabbit polyclonal antibody validated for Western blotting (datasheet includes rat/mouse brain lysate WB image) with suggested 0.1–0.5 µg/mL; often contextualized with cholesterol-regulator PCSK9 or other endocytosis/trafficking markers like AP2B1 when studying LDLR/vesicular pathways (putative).
Storage & Handling
Store at -20˚C for one year from date of receipt. After reconstitution, at 4˚C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20˚C for six months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Background of ABCG4
ABCG4 (ATP-Binding Cassette, Subfamily G, Member 4), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ABCG4 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is included in the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. This protein is a member of the White subfamily and is expressed predominantly in liver tissue. By genomic sequence analysis, Engel et al. (2001) mapped the ABCG4 gene to chromosome 11q23.3. Engel et al. (2001) demonstrated 5-fold induction of ABCG4 following treatment of normal monocyte-derived macrophages with the LXR and RXR agonists 9-cis retinoic acid and 22R hydroxycholesterol. Removal of cholesterol from macrophages by cyclodextrin decreased ABCG4 message levels.
Antibody Validation
Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

1 Customer Q&As for Anti-ABCG4 Antibody Picoband®
Question
We are currently using anti-ABCG4 antibody PA2067 for mouse tissue, and we are happy with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it true that the antibody can work on goat tissues as well?

Answer
The anti-ABCG4 antibody (PA2067) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with goat tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in goat you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
