Background of HSP40/DNAJB1
The Hsp40 (heat shock protein with molecular size of approximately 40 kDa) is one of the mammalian homologues of bacterial DnaJ heat shock protein. Ohtsuka (1993) isolated a cDNA encoding a 40-kD heat-shock protein designated HSPF1. The deduced 340-amino acid HSPF1 protein is 34% identical to E. coli DnaJ and 34% and 36% identical to HSJ1 and HSJ2, respectively. HSPF1 gene spans over 7 kb and contains 3 exons and 2 introns. HSPF1 gene is mapped to chromosome 19p13.2.
Antibody Validation
Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence and ELISA with known positive and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity.

Question
Would PA1043 anti-Hsp40/DNAJB1 antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?
G. Lewis
Verified customer
Asked: 2019-04-22
Answer
You can see on the product datasheet, PA1043 anti-Hsp40/DNAJB1 antibody as been tested on IHC. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

Question
We are currently using anti-Hsp40/DNAJB1 antibody PA1043 for human tissue, and we are satisfied with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it true that the antibody can work on goat tissues as well?
K. Mangal
Verified customer
Asked: 2017-06-21
Answer
The anti-Hsp40/DNAJB1 antibody (PA1043) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with goat tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in goat you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
