Background of Lambda5/IGLL1

Immunoglobulin lambda-like polypeptide 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IGLL1 gene. It is mapped to 22q11.23. The preB cell receptor is found on the surface of proB and preB cells, where it is involved in transduction of signals for cellular proliferation, differentiation from the proB cell to the preB cell stage, allelic exclusion at the Ig heavy chain gene locus, and promotion of Ig light chain gene rearrangements. The preB cell receptor is composed of a membrane-bound Ig mu heavy chain in association with a heterodimeric surrogate light chain. This gene encodes one of the surrogate light chain subunits and is a member of the immunoglobulin gene superfamily. This gene does not undergo rearrangement. Mutations in this gene can result in B cell deficiency and agammaglobulinemia, an autosomal recessive disease in which few or no gamma globulins or antibodies are made. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Question

Would anti-IGLL1 antibody A08965-1 work on dog IHC-P with bone marrow?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-11-13

Answer

Our lab technicians have not tested anti-IGLL1 antibody A08965-1 on dog. You can run a BLAST between dog and the immunogen sequence of anti-IGLL1 antibody A08965-1 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated dog samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in dog bone marrow in IHC-P, you can get your next antibody for free.

Question

We are currently using anti-IGLL1 antibody A08965-1 for human tissue, and we are happy with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it true that the antibody can work on dog tissues as well?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-09-02

Answer

The anti-IGLL1 antibody (A08965-1) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with dog tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in dog you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
