Background of CHUK

IKKA, also known as conserved helix-loop-helix ubiquitous kinase (CHUK) or IKBKA, is a protein kinase that in humans is encoded by the CHUK gene. It is mapped to 10q24.31. This gene encodes a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family. The encoded protein, a component of a cytokine-activated protein complex that is an inhibitor of the essential transcription factor NF-kappa-B complex, phosphorylates sites that trigger the degradation of the inhibitor via the ubiquination pathway, thereby activating the transcription factor. IKKA is part of the IκB kinase complex that plays an important role in regulating the NF-κB transcription factor. However, IKKA also has many additional cellular targets, and is thought to function independently of the NF-κB pathway to regulate epidermal differentiation.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

1 Customer Q&As for Anti-IKK alpha/CHUK Antibody Picoband™

Question

We are currently using anti-IKK alpha/CHUK antibody PB9110 for mouse tissue, and we are well pleased with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it likely that the antibody can work on goat tissues as well?

Answer

The anti-IKK alpha/CHUK antibody (PB9110) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with goat tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in goat you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
