Background of LIPC
Enables phospholipase A1 activity and triacylglycerol lipase activity. Involved in several processes, including cholesterol homeostasis; plasma lipoprotein particle remodeling; and triglyceride catabolic process. Located in extracellular space. Implicated in several diseases, including Alzheimer's disease; coronary artery disease; familial combined hyperlipidemia; peripheral vascular disease; and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Biomarker of hyperinsulinism; obesity; and type 1 diabetes mellitus.

IHC analysis of LIPC using anti-LIPC antibody (A01020-3).
LIPC was detected in a paraffin-embedded section of rat liver tissue. Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0, epitope retrieval solution). The tissue section was blocked with 10% goat serum. The tissue section was then incubated with 1:200 rabbit anti-LIPC Antibody (A01020-3) overnight at 4°C. Peroxidase Conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG was used as secondary antibody and incubated for 30 minutes at 37°C. The tissue section was developed using HRP Conjugated Rabbit IgG Super Vision Assay Kit (Catalog # SV0002) with DAB as the chromogen.
