IHC analysis of OBFC2B using anti-OBFC2B antibody (A09240).
OBFC2B was detected in a paraffin-embedded section of human colon cancer tissue. Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0, epitope retrieval solution). The tissue section was blocked with 10% goat serum. The tissue section was then incubated with 1:200 rabbit anti-OBFC2B Antibody (A09240) overnight at 4°C. Peroxidase Conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG was used as secondary antibody and incubated for 30 minutes at 37°C. The tissue section was developed using HRP Conjugated Rabbit IgG Super Vision Assay Kit (Catalog # SV0002) with DAB as the chromogen.

Background of NABP2
OBFC2B, also named as NABP2 or SSB1, is a 211 amino acid protein, which belongs to the SOSS-B family. OBFC2B localizes to nuclear foci following DNA damage. OBFC2B is a component of the SOSS complex, a multiprotein complex that functions downstream of the MRN complex to promote DNA repair and G2/M checkpoint. In the SOSS complex, OBFC2B acts as a sensor of single-stranded DNA that binds to single-stranded DNA, in particular to polypyrimidines. The calculated molecular weight of OBFC2B is 22 kDa, but modified OBFC2B is about 32 kDa.
