Background of PLAC4
PLAC4 (placenta-specific protein 4), was initially discovered as a gene whose mRNA was expressed in placental syncytiotrophoblast and choriocarcinoma cells. While the function of PLAC4 is currently unclear, its gene is known to be located on chromosome 21q22.3. Due to the PLAC4 gene location on chromosome 21 and the release of its mRNA transcripts into maternal bloodstream from the placenta, it has been proposed to be a useful marker noninvasive prenatal chromosome 21 aneuploidy detection, although other reports suggests that PLAC4 mRNA levels are not altered in the maternal circulation of pregnancies with trisomy 21.
Antibody Validation
Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Assay Dilutions Recommendation
The recommendations below provide a starting point for assay optimization. The actual working concentration varies and should be decided by the user.
PLAC4 antibody can be used for detection of PLAC4 by Western blot at 1 - 2 μg/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunocytochemistry starting at 10 μg/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 μg/mL.
Antibody validated: Western Blot in human samples; Immunocytochemistry in human samples and Immunofluorescence in human samples. All other applications and species not yet tested. Optimal dilutions for each application should be determined by the researcher.
