Background of PMP70
ATP-binding cassette sub-family D member 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ABCD3 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. The gene was assigned to human chromosome 1p21-p22 by in situ hybridization. This peroxisomal membrane protein likely plays an important role in peroxisome biogenesis. Mutations have been associated with some forms of Zellweger syndrome, a heterogeneous group of peroxisome assembly disorders.
Antibody Validation
Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Question
We are currently using anti-PMP70/ABCD3 antibody PA2091 for human tissue, and we are satisfied with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it possible that the antibody can work on pig tissues as well?
R. Krishna

Asked: 2018-02-14
Answer
The anti-PMP70/ABCD3 antibody (PA2091) has not been validated for cross reactivity specifically with pig tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in pig you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
