Background of RAB11FIP2
A Rab11 effector binding preferentially phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PtdInsP3) and phosphatidic acid (PA) and acting in the regulation of the transport of vesicles from the endosomal recycling compartment (ERC) to the plasma membrane. Involved in insulin granule exocytosis. Also involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis and membrane trafficking of recycling endosomes, probably originating from clathrin-coated vesicles. Required in a complex with MYO5B and RAB11 for the transport of NPC1L1 to the plasma membrane. Also acts as a regulator of cell polarity.

Question
Would A10249 anti-RAB11FIP2 antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?
Verified Customer
Verified customer
Asked: 2019-07-25
Answer
As indicated on the product datasheet, A10249 anti-RAB11FIP2 antibody as been tested on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

Question
Would anti-RAB11FIP2 antibody A10249 work on feline WB with cervix carcinoma erythroleukemia?
Verified Customer
Verified customer
Asked: 2018-01-22
Answer
Our lab technicians have not tested anti-RAB11FIP2 antibody A10249 on feline. You can run a BLAST between feline and the immunogen sequence of anti-RAB11FIP2 antibody A10249 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated feline samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in feline cervix carcinoma erythroleukemia in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.
