Flow Cytometry analysis of 293T cells using anti-RP2 antibody M01923).
Overlay histogram showing 293T cells stained with M01923 (Blue line). To facilitate intracellular staining, cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with permeabilization buffer. The cells were blocked with 10% normal goat serum. And then incubated with mouse anti-RP2 Antibody (M01923, 1μg/1x106 cells) for 30 min at 20°C. DyLight®488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG (BA1126, 5-10μg/1x106 cells) was used as secondary antibody for 30 minutes at 20°C. Isotype control antibody (Green line) was mouse IgG (1μg/1x106) used under the same conditions. Unlabelled sample without incubation with primary antibody and secondary antibody (Red line) was used as a blank control.

Background of RP2
Protein XRP2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RP2 gene. It is mapped to Xp11.3. The RP2 locus has been implicated as one cause of X-linked retinitis pigmentosa. The predicted gene product shows homology with human cofactor C, a protein involved in the ultimate step of beta-tubulin folding. Progressive retinal degeneration may therefore be due to the accumulation of incorrectly folded photoreceptor or neuron-specific tubulin isoforms followed by progressive cell death.The RP2 protein is also involved in regulating the function and extension of outer segment of cone photoreceptors in mice.
