XKR8 antibody can be used for detection of XKR8 by Western blot at 1 - 2 μg/ml. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 5 μg/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 μg/mL.
Antibody validated: Western Blot in human samples; Immunohistochemistry in human samples and Immunofluorescence in human samples. All other applications and species not yet tested. Optimal dilutions for each application should be determined by the researcher.

Background of XKR8
The XK Kell blood group complex subunit-related family member 8 (XKR8) is a member of a family of proteins that promote the phagocytosis of dying cells by altering the phospholipid distribution of the plasma membrane (1). XKR8 is thought to be a “scramblase”, an enzyme that eliminates the asymmetry of phospholipid distribution in the plasma membrane. In apoptotic cells, XKR8 promotes the cell-surface exposure of phosphatidylserine (PtdSer) which serves as a signal for phagocytosis (1,2).
