MRNA-binding protein involved in appropriate cytoplasmic distribution of mitochondria. Specifically binds mRNAs of nuclear- encoded mitochondrial proteins in the cytoplasm and modulates transport or translation of these transcripts near mitochondria, playing a role in mitochondrial biogenesis.
