Olfactory receptor that is activated by the binding of organosulfur odorants with thioether groups such as (methylthio)methanethiol (MTMT) and bis(methylthiomethyl) disulfide (PubMed:22328155, PubMed:25185561, PubMed:25901328, PubMed:29659735). Also binds odorants cis-cyclooctene and tert- butyl mercaptan (PubMed:27019154).

The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase (Potential). .
