Catalyzes the oxidation of hydrogen sulfide with the help of a quinone, such as ubiquinone, giving rise to thiosulfate and finally to sulfane (molecular sulfur) atoms. Requires an additional electron acceptor; may use sulfite, sulfide or cyanide (in vitro).
