Ontology For IL17RC (Source: Uniprot.org, NCBI)
|Protein Function||Receptor for IL17A and IL17F homodimers as part of a heterodimeric complex with IL17RA (PubMed:16785495). Receptor for the heterodimer formed by IL17A and IL17B as part of a heterodimeric complex with IL17RA (PubMed:18684971). Has also been shown to be the cognate receptor for IL17F and to bind IL17A with high affinity without the need for IL17RA (PubMed:17911633). Activation of IL17RC leads to induction of expression of inflammatory chemokines and cytokines such as CXCL1 (PubMed:16785495).|
|Tissue Specificity||Expressed in prostate, skeletal muscle, kidney and placenta (at protein level) (PubMed:11706037). Expressed in brain, cartilage, colon, heart, intestine, kidney, liver, lung, muscle, placenta, and prostate (PubMed:11706037). Also detected in thyroid, trachea and adrenal gland (PubMed:17911633). Low expression in thymus and leukocytes (PubMed:11706037).|

|Background||Interleukin-17 receptor C is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IL17RC gene. By genomic sequence analysis, IL17RC gene was mapped to chromosome 3p25.3-p24.1. This gene encodes a single-pass transmembrane protein that shares limited similarity with the interleukin-17 receptor. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been detected for this gene, but the full-length nature of only three have been determined to date. The biologic activity of IL-17 is dependent on a complex composed of IL-17RA and IL-17RC, suggesting a new paradigm for understanding the interactions between the expanded family of IL-17 ligands and their receptors.|

This data is generated from a recent batch of EK0984 Human IL-17RC ELISA Kit PicoKine™. It is not necessarily the same data set used to generate the standard curve shown in the image of this product. TMB reaction incubate at 37°C for 15-25min
We measured random samples of Human IL-17RC ELISA Kit PicoKine™ within the same batch/lot to ensure the consistency of the kits' performances. ELISA intra assay consistency is measured using wells from the same plate/assay kit. ELISA inter assay consistency is measured using wells from different plates from the same batch production/lot.
