Materials Required But Not Provided
- Microplate reader in standard size.
- Automated plate washer.
- Adjustable pipettes and pipette tips. Multichannel pipettes are recommended in the condition of large amount of samples in the detection.
- Clean tubes and Eppendorf tubes.
- Washing buffer (neutral PBS or TBS).
- Preparation of 0.01M TBS: Add 1.2g Tris, 8.5g NaCl; 450μl of purified acetic acid or 700μl of concentrated hydrochloric acid to 1000ml H2
- Preparation of 0.01 M PBS: Add 8.5g sodium chloride, 1.4g Na O and adjust pH to 7.2-7.
Typical Data Obtained from Mouse GDNF PicoKine™ ELISA Kit
(TMB reaction incubate at 37°C for 20-25min)
Intra/Inter Assay Precision
|Intra-Assay Precision||Inter-Assay Precision|
Three samples with differing target protein concentrations were assayed using four different lots to measure the CV% lot to lot variance.
To assay reproducibility, three samples with differing target protein concentrations were assayed using four different lots.
|Lots||Lot1 (pg/ml)||Lot2 (pg/ml)||Lot3 (pg/ml)||Lot4 (pg/ml)||Mean (pg/ml)||Standard Deviation||CV (%)|
*The typical data is obtained from Boster's internal QC result and for reference only. It may differ from the lab test results of the end users. It is more important that the user's lab test results reflect the same linearity demonstrated in the typical data than achieving exactly the same O.D. values.
Protein Target Info (Source: Uniprot.org)
|Protein Name||Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor|
|Tissue Specificity||Expressed in both the central nervous system (CNS) and in non-CNS tissues. Expressed in a highly dynamic pattern in the anterior neuroectoderm during the early stages of neurogenesis between E7.5 and E10.5. Beginning at E10.5, expression begins in mesenchymal tissues of several organs including the digestive tract, kidney, testis, frontonasal mass, tooth primordium, tongue, mandible, whisker follicles, ear, eye, limb bud and in distinct regions of the brain. Also expressed in the heart, ileum, liver and muscle. .|
|Alternative Names||Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor;mGDNF;Astrocyte-derived trophic factor;ATF;Gdnf;|
|Molecular Weight||23662 MW|
*if product is indicated to react with multiple species, protein info is based on the human gene.
|Protein Function||Neurotrophic factor that enhances survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake.|
|Background||Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor(GDNF) is a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer that is a distantly related member of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily.1 GDNF, is a potent neurotrophic factor that promotes the survival of dopaminergic neurones in cultures including embryonic neuronal cultures.2 GDNF, in addition to its potential role in the differentiation and survival of central nervous system neurons, has profound effects on kidney organogenesis and the development of the peripheral nervous system.3 GDNF may have utility in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, which is marked by progressive degeneration of midbrain dopaminergic neurons.|

"Easy to Use GDNF ELISA Kit"
--Hannah Oakes, EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY, BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES, GRADUATE ASSISTANT
Applications Detecting GDNF Sample Brain Tissue (Hippocampus) Detection --
"We used this kit and the BDNF kit, because we were looking at neurogenesis within the hippocampus. We used the ELISA to complement our immunohistochemistry. It was easy to optimize the kits and the instructions were extremely easy to follow. Additionally, the instructions do not include using samples from tissue homogenates, but we did and the plates came out great. This product was selected after speaking with a representative about it at a conference. I am extremely glad we decided to go with this kit. This is a great kit. The protocol was easy to follow and optimize. We will be using these kits again."
