Background of SETDB2
Setdb2 and the neighboring gene Phf11 were linked to familial atopy/ asthma and are in a "critical region" commonly deleted in CLL. Setdb2 is a candidate histone methyltransferase as a member of the Su(var) 3-9 family of SET domain-containing enzymes. Other predicted domains in Setdb2 include a methylcytosine binding domain and a large bifurcation domain interrupting the putative histone methyltransferase (SET) domain whose function is unknown. Anti-Setdb2 antibody is ideal for researchers interested in Cancer Research and Epigenetics Research.
Antibody Validation
Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Assay Dilutions Recommendation
The recommendations below provide a starting point for assay optimization. The actual working concentration varies and should be decided by the user.
ELISA: 1:2,500 - 1:10,000
WB: 1:10,000 - 1:100,000
Anti-Setdb2 antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and western blotting. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately 80.6 kDa in size corresponding to Setdb2 by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.

Asked: 2019-09-11
Answer
The anti-Setdb2 antibody (A08290) has not been validated for cross reactivity specifically with horse tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in horse you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Question
Would A08290 anti-Setdb2 antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?
Verified Customer
Verified customer
Asked: 2018-02-07
Answer
You can see on the product datasheet, A08290 anti-Setdb2 antibody as been validated on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
