Expressed in a defined zone of basal keratinocytes in the deep outer root sheath of hair follicles. Also observed in sweat gland and mammary gland ductal and secretory cells, bile ducts, gastrointestinal tract, bladder urothelium, oral epithelia, esophagus, ectocervical epithelium (at protein level). Expressed in epidermal basal cells, in nipple epidermis and a defined region of the hair follicle. Also seen in a subset of vascular wall cells in both the veins and artery of human umbilical cord, and in umbilical cord vascular smooth muscle. Observed in muscle fibers accumulating in the costameres of myoplasm at the sarcolemma in structures that contain dystrophin and spectrin.
Anti-CK19 is a useful tool for scientists interested in the detection of tumors. This antibody co-immunoprecipitates with HER2 and is specific for epithelial malignancies. This product is available to purchase from Boster Bio. Read on to learn more about this marker. Here's an review of its usage and benefits.
In the study, the proportion of CK19-positive tumor cells was measured in the peripheral blood of patients with cancers that are CK19-positive. This marker is mostly expressed by cells that have the M-type phenotype. Patients with tumors that have the E-type phenotype didn't exhibit this expression. These results are positive. These results suggest that Anti-CK19 can be used to identify tumor cells.
The most frequently expressed marker of tumor cells that circulate is CK19. Mouse monoclonal anti-CK19 antibody proved that MDA-MB-231, the tumor cell line, did not express the protein. The expression of the CK19 marker in T47D and MCF7 cells was also contrasted. SKBR3 was part of the HER2-positive BC subtype and MDA-MB-231 was a claudin-low subtype. It has received a lot of attention recently because of its role in early metastasis.
CK19 is expressed in a variety of types of cells including breast cancer. Western analysis of blots has confirmed that CK19 is expressed in breast cancer cells. Twenty micrograms of each cell-line's protein were applied to a 12.5% Acrylamide Gel, then transferred to the nitrocellulose membrane, and then incubated with the mouse monoclonal antibody CK19 or HRP anti-mouse antibody. Electrophoretic chromatography showed the presence of protein bands. For a negative test, we used a MCF-7 cell line.
In recent years, CK19 is now an important marker for detection of cancerous cells. The protein has been proven to be present in 30 different cancer cell varieties, including breast, lung, colon, and pancreatic. Moreover, it is also present in pancreas' lymph nodes. However, it's not clear whether the anti-CK19 is an effective marker for cancer cells.
Boster Bio develops ELISA kits and research antibodies to detect the presence of KRT19, a molecule that is found in various cancers and other biological samples. The antibodies are specifically designed for immunohistochemistry and quantitative ELISA. Every antibody is tested quantitatively against the recombinant proteins. For the best performance, Boster offers multiple antibodies and ELISA kits that have picogram sensitivities.
This antibody was evaluated for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P). The Boster Bio anti Cytokeratin 19/KRT19 antibody reacts with human mice, human, and rats cells. It also has cross-reactivity with other proteins within the human body. It is suitable for a range of uses for research, diagnostics, and drug discovery.
The expression of Krt19 is found in the ductal region during the morphogenesis of branching. 3D surface renderings and Confocal images show that Krt19 expression occurs at the luminal part of the forming the ducts. The LGs were placed in the lab between E15 to E15+8 hours. The 3D surface renderings of Krt19+ cells reveal the 3D spring-like shape that is the growing buds. The Krt19+ cell population co-localizes with E-Cadherin in the membrane. E-Cadherin is a key player in the sense of tension in cells and the orientation of epithelial cell.
All cancers are classified according to their histological classification, and also their primary site, which is the organs or tissues in the body. The International Classification of Diseases for Oncology Third Edition (ICD-33) is the most widely used histology standard. Adenocarcinomas refer to cancers of the epithelium (including the mucous and skin membranes). These cancers account for between 80 and 90% of all cancers.
