Probably plays a role in trafficking of proteins through its interaction with UNC119 and UNC119B freight adapters: may assist the launch of UNC119 and UNC119B freight or the recycling of UNC119 and UNC119B (PubMed:22085962). May play a role in ciliary membrane localization through its interaction with UNC119B and protein transport into photoreceptor cells (PubMed:22085962).

Tissue Specificity

High expression in normal macrophages, monocytes, and cultured rheumatoid arthritis synovial fibroblasts (RASFs), with lower expression in B- and T-cells, and little to no expression in other tissues and cell lines (PubMed:26316022).

Cytoplasm. Cell projection, cilium. Localizes to the transition zone and proximal cilium in addition to being found throughout the cytoplasm.
