Background of LDHB

The LDHB gene encodes the B subunit of lactate dehydrogenase enzyme, which catalyzes the interconversion of pyruvate and lactate with concomitant interconversion of NADH and NAD+ in a post-glycolysis process. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. Recent studies have shown that a C-terminally extended isoform is produced by use of an alternative in-frame translation termination codon via a stop codon readthrough mechanism, and that this isoform is localized in the peroxisomes. Mutations in this gene are associated with lactate dehydrogenase B deficiency. Pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes X, 5 and 13.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

4 Customer Q&As for Anti-Lactate Dehydrogenase B/LDHB Antibody Picoband™

Question

We are currently using anti-Lactate Dehydrogenase B/LDHB antibody PB10076 for mouse tissue, and we are well pleased with the IHC-P results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it possible that the antibody can work on monkey tissues as well?

Asked: 2020-03-16

Answer

The anti-Lactate Dehydrogenase B/LDHB antibody (PB10076) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with monkey tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in monkey you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Question

Will anti-Lactate Dehydrogenase B/LDHB antibody PB10076 work on zebrafish WB with b-cell lymphoma?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-05-28

Answer

Our lab technicians have not tested anti-Lactate Dehydrogenase B/LDHB antibody PB10076 on zebrafish. You can run a BLAST between zebrafish and the immunogen sequence of anti-Lactate Dehydrogenase B/LDHB antibody PB10076 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated zebrafish samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in zebrafish b-cell lymphoma in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.
