Background of MPP2

MAGUK p55 subfamily member 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MPP2 gene. Palmitoylated membrane protein 2 is a member of a family of membrane-associated proteins termed MAGUKs (membrane-associated guanylate kinase homologs). MAGUKs interact with the cytoskeleton and regulate cell proliferation, signaling pathways, and intracellular junctions. Palmitoylated membrane protein 2 contains a conserved sequence, called the SH3 (src homology 3) motif, found in several other proteins that associate with the cytoskeleton and are suspected to play important roles in signal transduction.

Western blot analysis of MPP2 expression in rat brain extract (lane 1) and mouse brain extract (lane 2). MPP2 at 65KD was detected using rabbit anti-MPP2 Antigen Affinity purified polyclonal antibody (Catalog # PB10079) at 0.5 μg/mL. The blot was developed using chemiluminescence (ECL) method (Catalog # EK1002).

And then incubated with rabbit anti-MPP2 Antibody (PB10079,1μg/1x10⁶ cells) for 30 min at 20°C. DyLight®488 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (BA1127, 5-10μg/1x10⁶ cells) was used as secondary antibody for 30 minutes at 20°C. Isotype control antibody (Green line) was rabbit IgG (1μg/1x10⁶) used under the same conditions. Unlabelled sample (Red line) was also used as a control.
