Possesses ATPase activity (By similarity). Plays a part in calcium-regulated keratinocyte activation in epidermal repair mechanisms.

Has no effect on cell proliferation. Negatively regulates mitochondrial fusion in cooperation with mitofusin proteins (MFN1-2).
