Background of CASZ1

This antibody is suitable for Cancer, Immunology and Nuclear Signaling research. The human castor zinc finger 1 gene (CASZ1) regulates the production of the castor transcription factor, having increased expression when cells of neural and mesenchymal origin are induced to differentiation. CASZ1 is expressed in a number of human tumors and it localizes to a genomic region frequently lost in tumors of neuroectodermal origin. The CASZ1 gene generates 2 mRNA isoforms hCASZ5 and hCASZ11 that could encode proteins containing 5 or 11 zinc finger motifs, respectively. The proteins may be especially labile. Expect a band at 125 kDa for hCASZ5 and 190 kDa for hCASZ11 in fresh lysates.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

5 Customer Q&As for Anti-CASZ1 Antibody

Question

Will A06443 anti-CASZ1 antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2020-04-14

Answer

As indicated on the product datasheet, A06443 anti-CASZ1 antibody as been tested on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

Question

We are currently using anti-CASZ1 antibody A06443 for human tissue, and we are content with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human. Is it likely that the antibody can work on primate tissues as well?

T. Miller

Verified customer

Asked: 2013-01-30

Answer

The anti-CASZ1 antibody (A06443) has not been validated for cross reactivity specifically with primate tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in primate you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
