| CMV and MAPK
Pathway |
The binding of cytomegalovirus (CMV), a herpes virus, to a cellular receptor stimulates a series of cellular responses involved in transcriptional regulation, taking advantage of signalling pathways
to allow and enhance viral gene replication. One of the major pathways the CMV utilizes is the MAPK pathway. CMV initiates a succession of direct phosphorylation events of small GTPases and protein kinases, and, ultimately,
MAPKs (ERK 1/2, p38, JNK). Following activation, MAPKs phosphorylate many cytoplasmic substrates that modulate transcription and gene expression.
In addition to the MAPK pathway, CMV can also activate the Akt and NF-κB signalling pathways. |

| AKT Signaling
Pathway |
| The Akt/PKB Signaling Pathway is activated by extracellular signals, most commonly a type of growth factor, that phosphorylates PI3K, leading to the production of PIP3. The pleckstrin homology (PH)
domain of Akt (Protein Kinase B) possesses a high affinity for PIP3, causing Akt to favorably bind with PIP3. When Akt is completely activated, it is capable of inhibiting or activating up to 100 substrates through
phosphorylation, triggering various downstream effects that promote cell survival, growth, and proliferation. The pathway is highly involved in cross-talk with other signalling pathways. Mutations of the pathway may result in
higher signalling activity that develop problems with glycogen metabolism and angiogenesis, which are associated with a variety of diseases, such as Type 2 diabetes and cancer. |

| Anti-MDM2 Antibody (PA1378-1) |
 |
Review : "I've been looking at downstream products of AKT and
mTOR transcriptional regulation. I tried several anti-MDM2 antibodies from other companies with either ambiguous or negative results (in Western blots of human cancer cell line lysates) and Boster's is the only one that
gave me strong bands at the two expected sizes. I would recommend this product. The bad: Having to resuspend and freeze in tiny aliquots was not my favorite part of using this. The bottom line: I would absolutely buy it
again."
